The group shared an “immersion” into the commercial, legal, artistic, academic, marketing and new media aspects of the audiovisual industry in the United States, through an intensive schedule of meetings, presentations and panels, in addition to a workshop, pitching sessions and networking opportunities in Los Angeles.

The activities began with an orientation session and a welcome dinner for the group whose members this year reside in nine different countries: Spain, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, United Kingdom, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and Uruguay.

The program included visits to various entertainment companies such asWarner Bros. Pictures International and Arenas Entertainment, and also featured presentations by producers such as Chris Ranta, Ben Odell, Harris Tulchin, Barney Cohen, and attorneys Michael Donaldson and Robert Kaplan, consultants William Nix and Joel Goldstein , Stuart Manashil, (CAA), Linne Radmin (Manager), and Bonnie Voland (IM Global sales agent). In addition, the group attended a pitching workshop with Scott Anderson.

The group also had sessions with the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), and a networking meeting with producers and writers from the WGA – Writers Guild of America. To complete the marathon, participants received credentials for a full day at the American Film Market (AFM), the largest industry market for audiovisual content in the world.

This year, the III U.S. Film Industry Immersion Program in Los Angeles was organized jointly by LATC and EGEDA (Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales), with official support of the IFTA Foundation and NALIP. The Brazilian Consul in Los Angeles also hosted a reception at his residence for the group.

In Los Angeles, the program was led by Steve Solot, president of the LATC, and Daniel Dreifuss, General Director of Programs in the U.S. LATC.
