organized by the Rio Negocios Investment Agency to discuss business opportunities with potential investors in the audiovisual industry of Rio de Janeiro.

The event is part of a series of meetings organized by Rio Negocios, the Rio de Janeiro Investment Agency, to show investors, during the Olympic Games of 2012, the opportunities available in the “wonderful city”. For 21 days in London, ending on August 12th, the agency will contact 540 companies, carrying out seminars, meetings and business round-tables. It will focus the actions of federal, State and local government. Opportunities for business in the city were divided in four strategic areas: sports, energy, audiovisual and high technology.

The audience of the audiovisual sector roundtable heard several speakers, including Marcelo Haddad, Executive Director of Rio Negocios; Steve Solot, President of Rio Film Commission and LATC – Latin American Training Center; José Mauricio Fittipaldi, Cesnik Quintino & Salinas; Marco Altberg, President of the Association of Independent Producers of TV in Brazil (ABPITV); Ricardo Rangel, Conspiração partner; and Jana Bennett, BBC World. The event took place on July 30th, at Casa Brasil (Sommerset House), in London.
